Samsung New Flagship Smartphones
Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+
With the excitement of Mobile World Congress 2017 now over and many new smartphones revealed over the last few months we were still one name short. Samsung kept their audience waiting but we finally have the pleasure to add Samsung’s latest flagship smartphones to our database. The heavily rumoured successor to the Galaxy S7 Series is finally here in the form of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. The latest flagship phones come with a few new design ideas and more screen size than ever before. By integrating the front button into the screen and minimising the top and bottom bezels Samsung have created a piece of excellence called the infinity display, spilling over the side of the phone to form a continuess surface and an incredible viewing experience. The Fingerprint sensor has been repositioned to the back of the device for easier access and stability, whilst a new personal assistant has been developed specially for the device and it's name is Bixby. Interaction with this new voice assistant is as easy as opening your camera app and showing the device what to search for. With the latest System On Chip - Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, both S8 and S8+ have lightning processor speed and immaculate software response. These two devices are created to change the way you view life and work on the go. The devices are currently only available to pre-order in selected countries.

51Degrees has detected User-Agents for the Galaxy S8 and S8+ and we've looked into the hardware model numbers in greater detail to discover that the SM-G950U, SM-G950F and SM-G950W relate to the Galaxy S8 whilst SM-G955U, SM-G955F and SM-G955W relate to the Galaxy S8+. With Samsung devices the last letter of the model number usually indicates to what market or mobile carrier the device belongs to. The 'F' in the models SM-G950F and SM-G955F mean they represent the international versions of the Galaxy S8/S8+. The 'U' and 'W' markers represent models introduced to the Asian markets. These characters apended to Samsung's hardware models change according to the region or mobile carrier. We expect to shortly see User-Agents containing SM-G950V and SM-G950A, these respectively correspond to the US Verizon and AT&T carriers, with more region and carrier markers sure to follow.
We are excited to see if the Galaxy S8/S8+ will perform to expectations with its great new features and stunning design to bring a smooth user experience to its fans around the world. The question is will Samsung's newest generation fend off competition from future flagships released later this year by big names such as Apple and Google.
