New technology platform adds Geolocation to improved Device Detection offering
We’ve been unapologetically shaking up the device detection game for more than a decade. And with the arrival of a new platform and a refreshed device data set – we’re not stopping now.
Pipeline API is the name of our new, open source real-time data platform. We’ve built it from the ground up to deliver not just device detection but also multiple other real-time data services in a way that’s never been done before. Geolocation is the first of these additional services (with a nod to our heritage: 51Degrees is named after the latitude of Reading, UK – the place we call home), with more coming soon. Customer subscriptions can now include geolocation services via OpenStreetMap, with options to add premium, third-party services such as Digital Element.
Our new, improved device data harnesses advanced machine learning, resulting in better performance, greater predictive accuracy, and smaller sizes for data files and memory. Deployment is easier than ever, too, with switching between cloud and on-premise operation as easy as a single line change in a configuration file.
This all serves to make developers more productive, achieving better results in less time. Our ad tech customers can get even more value from us at no extra cost. Our e-commerce and brand customers can benefit from more accurate results. Our tech partners can rest assured that they’re using the most advanced, patented algorithms. Following years of meticulous focus on high quality in everything we do, we now have the badge to show for it: 51Degrees has become the leading device detection company to achieve ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 27001 standards.
The ISO 9001 standard for quality management recognizes companies that consistently deliver on customer expectations, with reliable products, robust processes, healthy top management, and an unshakable habit of continual improvement.
Meanwhile, the ISO/IEC 27001 standard for information security management celebrates companies that demonstrate the utmost care for assets including financial data, employee details, intellectual property, and information entrusted by third parties.
Data is our business at 51Degrees, which is why we take the quality and security of our data seriously. The fine folks at ISO don’t hand out their stamp of approval willy-nilly. It’s earned, not given – and they left no stone unturned in their independent review.
We didn’t just tick all the (many, many) boxes required by ISO. With the launch of our new platform and services, we re-evaluated our policies and procedures from top to bottom, while investing in the very best new systems and software. With these new measures and ISO accreditations, our customers and partners can be confident that they’re in safe hands.
Rebrand goes live with launch of new website
Having channeled our engineering and business savvy towards helping our customers create outstanding website experiences, we felt it was only fair to give our own website the same treatment. So, it’s with great pleasure that we can reveal the all-new 51Degrees website, complete with a fresh expression of our brand.
Top of our list was to create an easy, enjoyable experience for our customers. But more than that, our goal was to build a website that would show the world just what high-performance can look like. We used the latest tools and technologies (many of which are freely available from companies such as Microsoft) to implement all the same optimization and analytics solutions that we advocate for our customers. The result? A website that consistently turns out top results on popular performance tests, including perfect-100 scores on Google’s PageSpeed test.
We hope that our new website will inspire other businesses to achieve more with theirs. Over the coming months, our own developers will be shedding light on the challenges, thought processes, and techniques involved in this redevelopment.
